The Hawkeye is St. Joseph's Prep Student Newspaper. Our paper is printed and released to our school community on a monthly basis.
This page serves as another outlet for our writers to showcase their abilities and passion. Some articles published here will also be printed in our paper; others will live solely on this page.

Our Sections
The Hawkeye has a wide range of sections, all focusing on Prep-related content and news. From student artwork to faculty features, all sections aim to keep the Prep community informed in all facets of student life.
The news section brings updates to our school community about initiatives happening in our community and the surrounding neighborhoods.
News
The Op/Ed section serves as an outlet for our writers to share their opinions in a respectful manner. Topics range from College Football Playoff expansion to political and pop-culture takes.
Op/Ed
This section serves to highlight the work of students, faculty, staff, administrators, and alumni.
Features
The newest section of The Hawkeye, our Clubs and Activities articles highlight the heart of our student-life at the Prep. From intramurals to Cape and Sword, Mock Trial to Prep Med, we aim to cover as many clubs and activities as possible.
Clubs and Activities
The Sports section of The Hawkeye is primarily run by WSJP members, as they are the ones at almost every sporting event. In recent years, we have shifted away from covering pro sports, and focusing more on Prep sports.
Sports
Our Art section contains student artwork from classes such as 3D Design, Ceramics, and more. We aim to highlight as many pieces of student art as possible in each issue.

Our Editors-in-Chief
Our EICs are hand-picked by former EICs and moderators. They serve as the leaders of the newspaper for that school year. They ensure that all articles meet deadlines and word counts, format articles to be printed, and review the entire issue before it is sent to our printer. Many times, the EICs serve as Junior Managing Editors (JMEs) during their 11th grade year.
